When you visit another city and walk like a lost tourist through the streets of the place, you thank God for finding a place like Spyglass. In this striking house in Cerro Alegre we find a whole family concerned to guide us to really know every corner of the Port.
It is not about talking only about the museums or monuments that daily conquer tourists, but also about that heritage that makes the city great and that makes us even more deserving of the designation of World Heritage. It is not only about knowing physical spaces, but also about people; the intangible heritage of the port.
A year ago, its director José Miguel Rojas wanted to offer visitors a place where they give us good information about accommodations, cultural activities or an entertaining place to have lunch. He also offers interesting tours that include walks through different hills, because as he himself assures, in this way you can really get to know La Joya del Pacífico, its attractions, its dynamics.
Along with this, Spyglass gives us a quiet space to use the Internet, make a phone call or simply sit down and enjoy a natural juice. All this in a cozy atmosphere, where in most of its spaces we find photographs, sculptures or paintings by local artists.

There are several alternatives to get to Valparaíso:
By bus
The trip takes 1 hour 45 minutes from Santiago. Existing departures with a frequency of 15 minutes, the bus companies offer a good level of service and comfort.
By car
For those who wish to arrive by car from Santiago, they should take Route 68, the estimated travel time being 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Despite having been opened only a year ago, this place already has its own mystique, where its clients find free tourist information and a quiet space to enjoy.
This is how “Spyglass” despite having financing problems, since the infrastructure, computers and technology in general are insufficient, it also continues to move forward. In this center they well know how to compensate, with good care and a pleasant environment, the lack of infrastructure , which happens to be just a detail.
