Purchased by the Portuguese State in 1986, empty and in an advanced state of degradation, then begins its recovery and cultural dynamization. In addition to the church, in cultural and museological use, it is planned to re-found a monastic community, to musealize various spaces of the building and to establish a study center, taking into account the importance of the Monastery of S. Martinho de Tibães on the Portuguese Benedictine Route.
