Its structure nowadays has a predominantly Gothic style, but also elements of other times, since it has undergone changes throughout the centuries.
The cathedral features a latin cross-shaped plant, with a vaulted cross at the crossroads of the same, topped by an apse in red stoneware at the end where the main altar is. The nave, with a maximum height of about 18 meters, features two side naves with altars decorated with baroque gilded carving, divided from the central nave by solid octagonal pillars.
Its interior houses on the pavement several tombs of bishops and noble families of Silves, as well as the tombstone of D. João II, deceased and buried here in 1495, and which was later transferred to the Monastery of Batalha.
