Roncador, Quitasueño, Alburquerque, Serrana, Serranilla, Bolívar make up five areas that enclose several islets, keys and shallows, located in the middle of the Caribbean are with their lighthouses, guides for the ships that travel these seas. They also have military posts.
They are surrounded by reefs that protect them from the sea, the breeze and the arrival of strangers, which is why they were a cemetery for ships and still rich in marine species such as turtles, lobsters, barracudas, snails and sharks.
Some are just sand, others are lined with vegetation, have wells with semi-potable water, and are a refuge for thousands of birds.
Due to their proximity, Bolívar and Albuquerque are the most visited by tourists and fishermen. They have the charm of the unique.
From San Andres small boats leave daily to the keys.
In the past it was an important port where ships loaded with coconut left and arrived loaded with merchandise. It has beautiful beaches and some renowned hotels and restaurants, characterized by harmony with the environment.
