Converted from the original village primary school, The Old School Drymen is a charming country cottage in the heart of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Just 10 minutes’ drive from Loch Lomond itself, it has free parking on-site, a terrace and is surrounded by hiking routes.
Dating from 1900, the building offers lovely views of the village of Drymen and the surrounding hills. The individually designed rooms at The Old School Drymen each include a flat-screen TV with a DVD player, an en suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. Some have underfloor heating.
In the morning, a breakfast is served in what used to be the old school’s dining room. It includes a full Scottish breakfast with haggis and smoked salmon. Cereals, juices, toast, and homemade bread and preserves are also available.
The West Highland Way passes the property, and Drymen's shops, pubs and restaurants are 10 minutes' walk from the Old School. From the bed and breakfast, Buchanan Castle and Strathendrick golf courses are less than 3 miles away.
With a 13-minute journey in the car guests can explore Glengoyne Distillery, founded in 1833. Stirling Castle is also 31 minutes’ drive away.
