In Gothic style, the castle features an oval floor plan (which includes a small intra-muros district), reinforced by three quadrangular towers at the angles, and a solid Tower of Homage attached to the fence. The main gate (Porta Legal) is flanked by two quadrangular towers, slightly advanced (to allow the vertical shot on the entrance), connected by a curtain and surmounted by pyramidal endnotes.
The Torre de Menagem, with a quadrangular plan, is divided internally into three floors. Access to the interior is currently entailed. To this tower, still in the thirteenth century, the Church of Our Lady of Grace, which changed later, now features Renaissance traces, patented particularly in the coffered vault. In 1744, the church terrace was used to build the Clock Tower.
It was classified as a National Monument, was very ruined, having benefited from restoration works in the middle of the 20th century.
