Designed by the legendary architect Sir Henry Cotton, Alto Golf is a challenging course for all levels of handicap. Situated west of Portimão, near Alvor, the course stretches across two valleys and offers a considerable test of the capabilities of all golfers, with its strategic bunkers, doglegs, well-positioned trees and towering greens. The enchanting Sierra de Monchique offers breathtaking scenery, while pine, carob, almond, fig and olive trees line the fairways. The most famous hole is the 16th, a Par 5 of 600 meters known as "The Giant" or "Sir Henry's Challenge".
