Las Barrancas make up a traditional, old and beautiful walk in the neighborhood, made up of three blocks delimited by La Pampa, Antonio José de Sucre, Echeverría and Juramento Avenue from south to north, and by 11 de Septiembre street that connects with the Zavalía street and Virrey Vértiz avenue, going from west to east. They have a rich history, like that of the neighborhood itself: it had an ancient Franciscan chapel from the 18th century (from when the neighborhood was a district belonging to the province of Buenos Aires) on the corner of La Pampa and 11 de Septiembre streets, near from where there is now a building belonging to the Government of the City of Buenos Aires. Currently a commemorative plaque demarcates the place where the chapel was located.
In addition, it has walking paths built with ancient 19th century cobblestones, benches for resting, a playground for children, tables with boards for the practice of chess, dominoes and other games and hobbies, and even a kennel for the dog entertainment. Many people gather there for sports, such as gymnastics, Tai Chi Chuan and other arts, and aerobics among others, since it constitutes a very good green lung within the city, which in turn is located only three blocks from Parque Tres de Febrero (or Bosques de Palermo), the largest lung in the city, part of which is in Bajo Belgrano. Among the sculptures there is a replica of the Statue of Liberty made by the author of the original, the Frenchman Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi. It also has a large gazebo, where neighbors gather to dance tango and other musical styles, and eventually, recitals by different musical groups.
The Barrancas de Belgrano are some sloping land, which currently make up the ´´Plaza Barrancas de Belgrano´´, belonging to the Belgrano neighborhood of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Wooded and green grass, Plaza Barrancas has 67 plant species planted: ombúes, palm trees, magnolias, paradises, linden trees, oaks, honeysuckle, ceibos, bananas, among others.
