Leisure farm acquired in 1949 where the University of Porto installed the Botanical Garden. The garden has a remarkable collection of plants where large trees such as linden, liquidambares, beeches, carpinus, cork oaks, oaks, bischofias, sequoias and aurocaras, among others, as well as about half a kilometer of carved centennial japonica and a collection of succulents and cacti.

The Botanical Garden of Porto, along with its botanical interest, is still representative of the historic gardens of the port of 1900 as a recreational farm. Initially the fifth had 12 ha and today the garden has only 4ha. This decrease resulted from the crossing of the accesses of the Arrábida bridge.
The Botanical Garden also has a literary dimension that stems from the fact that it is a space of choice in the life and work of two prominent figures in 20th century Portuguese literature - Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen and Ruben A.
