This park has an area of ​​91,300 ha and is located on the border of the Tumbes and Piura regions. Its altitude ranges from 120 meters above sea level (Rica Playa) to 1538 meters above sea level (Cerro Campana) and its diverse geography combines the dry tropical forest with the hills of the Peruvian mountain range or the hills of Amotapes.



Approximately 36 km away from the city of Tumbes (1 hour and 20 minutes by car).



The area can be visited all year round, but it is difficult to access in the rainy season (January to March) and when the El Niño phenomenon occurs.





The Tumbes Mangrove National Sanctuary (2972 ha), consisting of plant formations in the form of extensive aquatic forests that create a unique environment between the river and the sea.



The proximity to Ecuador makes the beaches of Tumbes an ideal place for surfing, diving, fishing or simply for tourists looking for sun and heat. Punta Sal is considered one of Peru's best beaches for its white sands and rich marine life; Zorritos Cove is known for its calm sea and variety of fish.



North of the city of Tumbes lies Puerto Pizarro, famous for its islands and fertile ground for Tumbesian crocodiles, a unique species in Peru and endangered. It is also a place where you can find abundant black shells and crabs, the staple of exquisite local cuisine.
