It comprises 12,500 hectares with a great presence of hills, ravines with steep slopes and great depths where 20 lagoons have been formed fed by slopes, rivers and streams that descend from the high peaks.



In the flora the most frequent is to find araucaria, lenga, mañío and michay. Its fauna includes the condor, culpeo fox, bufo variegatus toad, Darwin's frog and chucao.



The most beautiful places to visit within the park are the Green Lagoon, the Renahue River Canyon and the Quinchol and Araucano hills.



For its route there are the Quinchol trails and the Los Lagos trail. It has 15 sites equipped with the necessary for camping which are administered by CONAF. Management is at the park entrance





The Huerquehue National Park is located in the province of Cautín, commune of Pucón in the Andean Precordillera, to the east of the city of Pucón, 35 kilometers from it.



From the city of Temuco, Freire-Villarrica-Pucón (Route 119 paved), along the road to Lake Caburga leading to Paillaco-National Park, this road is 15 km long. of asphalt, 12 km. gravel road and 7 km. of Earth. So the visiting season is seasonal (summer period). This journey has a total of 135 km.



From Loncoche- Villarrica Pucón- Caburga- Paillaco-National Park, it is 109 km.



From the Mamuilmalal-Curarrehue-Río Turbio-Caburga-Paillaco-National Park International Pass, it is 102 km.



From Temuco-Cunco-Lago Colico-Lago Caburga- Termas de Río Blanco-National Park, it is 120 km. The roads are enabled for any vehicle and it is only traveled in summer.





The Huerquehue National Park is a beautiful place to visit. Resting on the calm waters of Lake Tilquilco is an incomparable pleasure. Contemplating the beautiful high-altitude lagoons is well worth the effort to reach them. Its paths full of nature invite you to calm down and reflect.



The walking paths are well laid out and signposted. One thing to consider is that the information provided by CONAF on the duration of each one is approximate and considering people with training and / or good physical condition. Don't forget to bring water and high-calorie foods.
