Gibson House is a museum in the North York Center district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Its historic property was built in 1851 by David Gibson, a Scottish immigrant, surveyor and participant in the Rebellion of 1837. For his activities in the Rebellion, his home was destroyed from Upper Canada, so he fled to the western outskirts of York, settling with his family in Lockport.
Excursions are available, and a museum attached to the old house offers insight into the life of a family that continues to reside here in the twentieth century. Children's programs host school groups and birthday parties (eg, July 1st) offer guests the opportunity to play period games, try out cooking treats and help make ice cream.
