Egyptian Room - Egypt in Brazil

Ancient Egypt was the first civilization to establish itself in a truly remarkable way in the world, almost five thousand years ago. An exuberant nation, who believed in the immortality of the Soul. The fascination of this civilization is reproduced today, in Brasilia, in the Egyptian Room of the Temple of Good Will, idealized by the President of the LGW and inaugurated by him on October 20, 1995. Differentiated place, it brings details of these people and, at the same time , offers an environment for reflection.

Those who have the privilege of visiting it can appreciate, among other things, frescoes that reproduce the great sphinx of Giza, the Giza Valley itself, with the three pyramids: Cheops, Chephren and Miquerinos, in addition to knowing the furniture of the time, thanks to the recreation of the pieces, made by the artist Marciel Oehlmeyer.

At the outer entrance of the room there are three figures of Ramses II, responsible for one of the most notable reigns in history.

Above the portal of access to the environment, we find the following inscription in hieroglyphs (language with more than 700 different figures to represent sounds and ideas): “The dead do not die” - maxim by Paiva Netto, which he recorded on the site also in Portuguese , English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Esperanto and Japanese. Two figures can be seen sowing, which symbolizes good indoor planting. On the walls along the stairs are depicted ibid birds and Meidum geese, which express life and movement. Above the stairs is painted the charismatic figure of Akhenaton, Pharaoh who ruled Egypt for 17 years, from 1379 to 1362, before Jesus' First Coming to Earth, whose name means “Messenger of the Sun”, and who instituted, during his reign, the worship of the one god.

There is also the sculpture of the bust of Nefertite - Akhenaton's wife, famous for her beauty. Its name suggests: Nefertite - "beauty has arrived", "beauty has arrived". The Throne of Tutankhamen - Akhenaton's successor (Tut-Ank-Amon - “living image of Amon”) - is also represented; he was the youngest pharaoh in Egypt, known as the “boy king” because he ascended the throne as a child and ruled for ten years. Snakes are present, as they are a symbol of dominance and protection and, therefore, also appear on the forehead of the pharaohs. On the ceiling, the “seven heavens”, which represent the seven days of the week and the whole mystique of the number “7”.

In addition to these, there are many other details that confirm the words of journalist Paiva Netto: "If you cannot go to Egypt, TBV brings Egypt to you".
