The first oil extraction experiments date back to 1885, the year of the founding of the Mendocina Oil Company. The company explored three wells and built a 40-kilometer pipeline. From there, the Comodoro Rivadavia, Neuquén, Salta and Mendoza regions, among others, were successfully explored.
