It is the building of the Old Hospital San Juan de Dios, destroyed by the earthquake and rebuilt in 1886. From 1993 it housed the Department of Health Secretariat, then when this entity was relocated, in 1998 the Public Library was designated as the headquarters Julio Pérez Ferrero, for which the building had to be fully restored and reopened in 2000, after having been declared a National Monument and consequently Architectural and Historical Heritage of Colombians.
Today they have very diverse uses, the first of these buildings is located in the block between avenues 1 and 2 and between streets 12 and 13.
It is a beautiful place with wide, clear, bright spaces with multiple services, showrooms, conference rooms, patios for shows. It is the headquarters of the departmental archive, library and public newspaper library.
