The Muruhuay Shrine is located at the foot of Shalacoto Hill, is characterized by the Swiss style tower, three electric bells stand out.
Inside is a large rock upon which the figure of Christ the Redeemer is drawn, as well as beautiful religious paintings by artisans of San Pedro de Cajas.
It is located in Muruhuay (Acobamba) 10 km away. from Tarma Muruhuay comes from the two Quechua voices: Muru and Huayi; the first meaning smallpox and the second house "smallpox".
