It is the second temple and first convent in the city. The temple is in the Renaissance style with a single nave. The main altar of the temple is made of wood entirely bathed in gold leaf, it presents the image of the Virgin of Mercy. In this temple rests the mortal remains of the Ayacucho heroine María Parado de Bellido.
It is located between the shreds San Martín (Sta. Cuadra) and 2 de Mayo (2da. Cuadra), City of Ayacucho.
