Lake Yojoa is a lake in Honduras, Central America, with a length of 16 km and a width of approximately 6 km, between the departments of Cortes, Santa Barbara and Comayagua.



This surrounding area has a rich biodiversity; Nearly 400 bird species and about 800 plant species have been identified in the region. However, in recent years, this site has been threatened by deforestation, livestock and urban development.



The road linking the two largest cities in Honduras: Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, borders much of Lake Yojoa. From this route, the traveler can appreciate the beauty of the lake in all its magnitude.



For tourists, the place offers several options to spend several days in the area. On Lake Yojoa there are many restaurants, as well as several hotels with typical rooms, recreation centers with swimming pools and water fun.



As Lake Yojoa is located between San Pedro Sula and other major cities like Comayagua, Siguatepeque, Tegucigalpa, La Paz and the southern part of Honduras, many travelers who travel between these major cities enjoy the lake to stop at.
